COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do any of your staff have first aid training?  Yes, ALL our staff are first aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis trained and stay up to date with

the latest requirements. All staff are also police cleared.

 

Are your staff qualified?  Yes, ALL our staff have a minimum of certificate III and are working towards Diploma qualifications.

Senior staff have Diploma qualifications and we have one university trained Early Childhood Teacher.

 

What sort of activities do the children do?  As our daily program is determined by follow up experiences and following children’s individual interests, we can provide an ever changing and refreshing selection of activities and experiences every day. We do art,

craft, music, dance, puzzles & games, drama, free play and lots of outdoor natural play, to name just a few.

 

Are you accredited?  We undertook the initial PILOT program for the NQS in 2012, and as we were one of the first services in WA

to be reviewed, passed all areas without concern. We are always working towards continual improvement, especially in the areas of documentation and child safety as these areas are of such high importance. Our next review will be in 2022

 

What do you do if children cry?  Sometimes children can take a little while to settle. Our educators are trained to encourage participation, comfort and care for children and distract them with exciting and interesting experiences.

Is the centre a sun smart service?  We are accredited with the Cancer Council Sun Smart program and have an all year round sun

policy. We provide a FREE sunhat for all children, labelled and kept at the centre. Clothing covering shoulders is required as is a

water bottle. Sunscreen is applied before going outdoors and staff monitor the UV levels daily.

How are behavioural issues dealt with? All educators hold qualifications in Children’s Services and have accredited training on

behaviour management. Behaviour management is visited on an individual level with those children who require support / guidance.

 

What if my 3 year old is not toilet trained?  Children develop at varying stages of their life, some earlier than others. We will

support your child (and you) when you are ready to start toilet training. Your child will still be an active part of the 3 year old kindy program.

 

What about allergies?  Our kitchen is equipped to handle all allergies and because our menu changes from week to week,

we can cater for all needs.
